Feedback about my presentation

On Tuesday 28th May 2013, at 8:40a.m it was my turn to present the final project of the year.
Mr. Hedley with some of the students was at the class waiting me to start presenting; my presentation was about social networking and I started it explaining how for these websites affect our daily life and it’s important to keep us in touch with the world; then I opened a slide which shows how many users are online from each country in the world and the students were surprised at that and Mohammed Ahmed was asking why there are not many users in China? I said because most people in China are old and they don’t know how to use the computer; after that I started pointing and showing each web site that the people are using like: Facebook, Twitter, keek, and YouTube. I started with You Tube and showed a short video about “lizzie”; she is one of the You Tube victims; after that I moved to talk about keek and I talked about how we should use it and how the people are using it with a video to explain my idea; thirdly I opened a conversation about Facebook and itd effects in the people and kids’ minds, so I mintioned a story about Debby the teacher and how her students get affected by Facebook.

At the end of the presentation I gave my idea about the social networks and how do I feel about them, and Mansour was arguing and said that these social networks have good ways to use and its very helpful; I said that they are helpful but we also have to focus on our real-life and there I ended my presentation.

Hamad said: he liked Marienplatz because most of the Arabs go there and it’s easy to communicate with the people.
After Germany Hamad went to Austria to some place called Zell Am See; he showed us some pictures about the hotels and the rivers in Zell Am See. Mr. Hedley asked him: is it cold or hot? Meeting reflection

On Tuesday19th March 2013 we had a meeting at 1300; our chairman Saeed Alqubaisi opened the meeting, and we discussed the problems that the student faces in the college life, what is the problems and how we solve them by giving some ideas. Saeed starts the meeting with the college parking problems, me and Saif we were trying to give some solutions and i said if we can put a pass for the cars they will be able to control the cars, but Saif didn’t agree with me and he gave another ideas. After that we discussed the break timing and how short it is, so some students they study in far classes so if they went to the canteen they will be late for the second class, Saif said the canteen is so crowded in the break time and it’s also a problem that is going to make the students late for the class and feel uncomfortable, and they have to open the other canteen (Bon Food) to let the student be comfortable, the last problem we had is the students who comes from far places and how the college can help them, but we didn’t figure out a real solution because there is many reasons let them come, some of them work in Abu Dhabi.

At the end, the meeting was successful and we discovered great solutions for the students problem by connecting four students ideas.

Agenda

Saeed Abdulla Al Qubaisi is the chairman and Mohamed Ahmed Balfaqeeh is the minutes taker with Saif Mohamed Al Mansori and Eissa Sultan Alblooshi who are the participants. And we are going to meet in Abu Dhabi Men’s College in the library on Tuesday 19-03-2013 at 12:30 pm to 01:00pm. We are going to discuss about the college life:-

1. Some students in the college come from outside of Abu Dhabi and we will talk about more problems and what could the college provide to support students socially.

2. Parking problems are caused because some people don’t park right and there are a lot of students in the college come by their own car and the parking is crowded with so many cars so it is difficult to find a parking space.

3. The break timing between classes doesn’t fit the students and they don’t feel comfortable.

4. Sometimes the canteen is crowded that some students don’t find a place to sit and sometimes students go outside the college to get something to eat.

The group needs a laptop, internet, pen and paper to discuss the problems of the college life.

Minutes:-

At the beginning of the meeting the group talked about the college life and what problems the students face.

There are some students who come from outside of Abu Dhabi and the college must provide something socially for these students and the college can afford any help for them; maybe some students come from other Emirates and there are some students who are far away from Abu Dhabi and sometimes the weather get bad and there is a traffic rush.

About the parking 60% of the students don’t  park right and this is a problem for other students, the college must provide buses for students so the parking won’t be crowded; there are two solutions that the college will discuss; they get Mawaqif for parking or if students who are friends come in 1 car it will be better.

The break time doesn’t suit the students; they must eat but the canteen is so crowded; a few months ago there was a canteen opened between the J block and F block; this canteen reduced the percentage of rush in the main canteen and students will feel comfortable because at this time when you order something the order will take between 10 to 20 minutes and like this the students will be late for their classes.

The college must provide for students laptops because the laptop in the college is too expensive for some students and the students who are sponsored by a company get a laptop for free and it is not fair for some students.
Recommendations:-
·         The college could give the student who comes from out of Abu Dhabi extra free time on weekdays so they can get to the college early and they can reach safely.
·         Build multi-storey parking and expand parking in the unused places.
·         The college could provide buses for students to reduce the number of cars.
·         Briefing the students on the right way to park and the college should give the student who parks badly a fine to pay.
·          The break time between the blocks should be different from each other so that the students can have their own time to enjoy their breakfast.
·         Re-open the other canteen which is at the CERT area to reduce the rush of students at the main canteen.
·         Reduce the cost of laptops or offer a new laptop for free to the new students.
